How iTest Works
Add analysis and logic
You can augment tests and increase their power by adding analysis and logic functions. Using analysis, you can look at any value, counter, or metric during the test and put rules in place to evaluate it, and ultimately determine whether the test passes or fails.
iTest® allows a comprehensive approach to analysis by parsing responses. Using the patent-pending Intelligent Response Parser (IPR), it makes adding a rule as simple as a right mouse click. The iTest parsing engine handles structure and unstructured data easily. In addition, you can add unlimited analysis and very powerful arguments to iTest tests.
Imagine that you are running a test and issued a command to determine whether the number of packets lost was less than 10. You could use iTest to find the value in the response to the "show traffic" command, highlight the "packets lost" number, right click to add the rule, and set the argument to less than 10. You could then rerun it, and that test output window would display whether the test passed or failed.
Testers often want to add programming functions to tests, such as: for loops, while, and if then. As with the addition of analysis, you can easily and quickly add this programming to your tests. Simply select the step where you would like to insert the logic command, insert it, and then follow the wizard to complete the action.

iTest enables you to augment tests by adding analysis and logic functions.
