Fanfare understands the challenges faced by today's development and testing teams. Every member of our management team has experienced them firsthand. Together, we have more than 75 combined years of experience in device manufacturing, embedded software development, product testing, and enterprise software development. And we have worked in a range of environments, from startups to mature, global organizations. At Fanfare our goal remains simple: Create quality testing solutions that solve real-world problems and help equipment vendors and service providers succeed in a competitive industry.

Biographies

Tom RyanTom Ryan
President and Chief Executive Officer

Tom Ryan brings more than 20 years of enterprise software experience, strong leadership credentials, and a proven track record of success to his role as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Fanfare, Tom was president and CEO of Actional Corporation, a leading provider of Web services management (WSM) software. Tom led the October 2004 merger of Actional with Westbridge, which set the stage for the acquisition of Actional Corporation by Progress Software in 2006. Prior to Westbridge, Tom was senior vice president of global field operations at Kintana, a leading provider of IT governance and management software that was acquired by Mercury Interactive. Tom also held an executive management position at Manugistics Group where he grew the company's software and services revenues to more than $200 million annually. Tom has also served as senior vice president at Talus, and was vice president of North American regional sales for Cadence Design Systems where here grew revenues to $500 million annually. He has held engineering and management positions at Parker Hannifin Corp. and Grumman Aerospace.

Tom earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College and has advanced training in electrical engineering from New York Polytechnic University.

Kingston DuffieKingston Duffie
Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Kingston Duffie is well-qualified to oversee Fanfare's technical product development in his role as Chief Technology Officer. During his more than 20 years in the computer networking and telecommunication industries, Kingston has earned a reputation for progressive ideas, innovative solutions and quality products. Kingston was a founding member of Fanfare and served as Fanfare's CEO for two years. Prior to Fanfare, Kingston was co-founder and CTO of Turnstone Systems, the leader in DSL wireline automation for CLECs. Prior to founding Turnstone, Kingston was co-founder, VP of Engineering and CTO of Whitetree, Inc., where he led the development of desktop networking products based on ATM and Ethernet, delivering innovative technology with affordable, easy-to-use functionality. Previously, Kingston held a variety of engineering and management positions at Nortel Networks and NetExpress, and founded Origin Technologies which created new network-based services based on ISDN technology.

Kingston earned a bachelor's degree in engineering physics from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and a master of science in electrical engineering from McGill University in Montreal.

David GehringerDavid Gehringer
Vice President of Marketing

David Gehringer brings over 10 years of marketing and product management success to the Vice President of Marketing role. Previously, David served as Vice President of Marketing at Actional Corporation, a leading provider of Web services management (WSM) software. He drove Actional's product and marketing strategy, resulting in Actional's acquisition by Progress Software in 2006. Prior to Actional, David held various international marketing and product management positions at Mercury Interactive, the leader in Business Technology Optimization (BTO), where he worked with customers and industry thought leaders to dramatically elevate the value of the quality process. Prior to Mercury, he spent several years in the game industry working for Sierra Online providing both product and brand management while launching three top 5 titles.

David earned bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and aeronautical engineering, both from University of California, Davis.

Craig LewisCraig Lewis
Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations

Craig Lewis brings more than 22 years of experience in building and leading global customer-facing organizations to his role of Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations. In this capacity, Craig is responsible for the global sales force, sales channels and partners, applications engineering, professional services, and customer support - the team that comprises the overall ‘customer experience’. Prior to joining Fanfare, Craig held executive level and senior vice president roles at think3, a product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services firm, Business Objects, a provider enterprise wide IT Business Intelligence solutions, and Cadence Design Systems, a leader in Engineering Design Automation solutions. Craig has led teams that have greatly exceeded revenue, profit, and customer satisfaction objectives with revenue responsibility as high as $600M and global teams of over 100 people. Craig's teams have crafted the largest enterprise level agreements and relationships that have led to resounding customer success stories at his firms.

Craig earned a degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Steve MorganSteve Morgan
Chief Financial Officer

Steve Morgan has over 15 years of experience as a senior financial executive responsible for managing all aspects of finance, legal and human resources for private and publicly held companies. Before joining Fanfare, Steve ran a private financial consulting firm working with venture-funded companies helping them establish financial infrastructure. Prior to his consulting practice, Steve served as CFO for two venture-backed start up companies (RouteScience Technologies and Atmosphere Networks, Inc.) successfully raising over $70 million in equity and debt from top tier investors. At Atmosphere, Steve was responsible for helping build the company from the ground up and was integrally involved in the acquisition of Atmosphere by Ditech Communications in 2000. Prior to Atmosphere, Steve held a number of finance positions at Whitetree, Inc., Integrated Process Equipment Corporation (IPEC) and KPMG.

Steve earned his bachelor's degree in business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Dave SheafferDave Sheaffer
Vice President of Business Development

Dave Sheaffer utilizes over 19 years of experience in developing high-growth technology companies in his role as Vice President of Business Development. Dave came to Fanfare from Wind River Systems, where he held a variety of executive positions in marketing, sales and business development. As Senior Director of Corporate Development and Alliances, Dave developed Wind River's partnership and acquisition strategy in the area of software testing tools, hardware simulation and open source Linux. Previously, Dave was responsible for all product marketing and business development activities associated with Wind River's core operating systems and development tools, including the industry leading Tornado Integrated Development Environment and VxWorks Real-Time Operating System. Dave joined Wind River as a territory account manager and secured many of Wind River's most strategic early design wins. Dave's previous experience includes sales and engineering positions at Verdix Corporation and Hughes Aircraft Corporation.

Dave earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Bucknell University and a master of science in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.

Pawan SinghPawan Singh
Vice President of Engineering

Pawan brings more than 15 years of experience in developing networking and telecommunications devices to his role as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to assuming this role, Pawan served as Fanfare's Director of Software and managed our globally-distributed team of software engineers. Pawan was part of the initial development team at Fanfare and served an integral role in developing our products and processes. Prior to joining Fanfare, Pawan served in several management roles at Turnstone Systems, the leader in DSL wireline automation for CLECs. At Turnstone, Pawan was responsible for managing both embedded software teams and application software teams. Prior to Turnstone, Pawan spent several years working for Newbridge Networks developing routing, switching, and ATM products.

Pawan earned a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from IIT Delhi and a master's degree in computer science from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
